Welcome to AbhiRah
At Abhirah, we don’t create stories, we tell them.
What inspired you to create this website?
To be honest, there wasn’t any specific inspiration behind starting this. It all began when I used to listen to podcasts where celebrities and famous people shared their opinions and experiences. It made me wonder about the thoughts and stories of ordinary people like us. I wanted to know if people could find inspiration from those who are not famous or wealthy. At Abhirah, we believe that inspiration comes from within and isn’t something external. That’s why we started this platform.
What challenges did you face when starting out?
We still face challenges, but starting out was particularly difficult because I didn’t have much knowledge about the technical aspects. When the idea came to me in 2013, I dropped it because I didn’t know how to start or what to do. However, in 2023, when I was 29, a young girl named Abhipsha, who was 21 or 22 at the time, helped me, and together we created this platform. That’s a story from the past.
Currently, I work a regular job, and I wanted to keep this blog very simple. Balancing my job, finding time for conversations, and dealing with the fact that 90% of people decline to participate can be tough. But it’s still okay because it’s not as hard as it seems.
It’s been almost a year now, and we’re still learning how everything works. We haven’t thought about how to earn money from this yet, and we probably won’t in 2024 either, because our full focus is on learning and creating content.
How has your journey evolved since the beginning?
To be honest, in the beginning, I often questioned why I started this because I’m an introvert, and talking to people was a huge challenge for me. I made mistakes along the way because, as I mentioned before, I’m not the type of person who spends a lot of time on technical things. But as they say, “It’s always darkest before the dawn.” I started enjoying the conversations. People express themselves in such unique ways, and I learned a lot from these interactions. So, dedicating time to this has been worth it.
We decided to keep our website in English because we thought it would be the better and easier option for us, but that doesn’t mean my English is perfect. Thanks to some friends, Google, ChatGPT, and other tools, it works out. For participants who speak local languages, we translate their content and provide a copy in their language. Overall, it’s been a great experience.
What makes your website unique?
Our journey has been unique because we discuss many topics that are often overlooked. We started with a segment where I asked the same 25 questions to different people and posted their answers. This was very interesting because we didn’t ask obvious questions; instead, I chose individuals who I felt had unique perspectives. They didn’t know the questions in advance and answered on the spot, which kept their responses genuine.
When people began saying they weren’t ready or couldn’t participate, we created another segment focused on discussing various topics related to daily life. We asked people what they thought about these topics.
As participation decreased, we started a third segment where I shared my thoughts and what was on my mind. We tackled these ideas by researching, reading, talking to people, and finding solutions in any way possible. This segment is also open to contributions—if anyone has something they want to share, they can email me. If I find it valuable, I’ll post it with 100% credit to the contributor.
This evolving format has made our journey quite unique and enriching for me
What future plans do you have for your website?
We continue to do what we do—seeking participants, engaging with them, and posting their stories. When participants are scarce, I delve into my own thoughts and solve them. There’s more to it than that. I don’t have any idea if anyone is benefiting from this. So far, no one has sent me an email like this, except for a few close friends. But don’t worry, we’re still going strong. I love one of the slogans from the Bhagavad Gita, “कर्म कर, फल की चिंता मत कर।
