Being funny is actually one of the toughest jobs—and Instagram is full of reels that honestly just waste your time with cringe content. So I thought, why not have a conversation on Abhirah with someone who actually makes genuinely funny reels?
That thought led me to a mini hunt—I started watching tons of reels and messaging different content creators. And that’s when I found Kushagra. I asked him a few questions, and our chat naturally flowed from there.
While the humor in his content already stood out, what surprised me was that he also runs a pet-care startup. So not only were the reels funny, the person behind them was just as interesting.
And that’s how this conversation came together.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Let’s dive in!

Q1) What challenges did you face in the beginning—especially as a pet-care start-up in India?
Kushagra: The number one challenge that we faced was the lack of awareness and education in the industry. A lot of people do not know what ingredients are being put into their pet’s food, so educating them was a huge challenge for us.
Q2) Dog or cat — who throws more attitude?
Kushagra: Being a dog parent, I would say cats have more attitude. They are more demanding as compared to dogs. It’s a little controversial, but I stand by what I said.
Q3) Do you think pets understand us more than humans do?
Kushagra: Oh, absolutely. The communication between humans and dogs is very different. With humans, you need to tell them, but with animals like dogs and cats, they can just sense things through your body language and expressions.
Q4) What’s the biggest life lesson you’ve learned from animals?
Kushagra: The biggest thing that I’ve learned from pets is to live in the present. Do not care about what has happened in the past. Do not care about what’s going to happen in the future. Live in the moment.
Q5) You treat cats and dogs but also treat us with reels. How did that content journey start?
Kushagra: You’re right—we treat our pets with the best ingredients and best treats possible. The content journey was actually pretty simple. A lot of my friends used to say that I am the funny one in the group, and they said, “Why don’t you post this online or try stand-up? A lot of people might enjoy it.” So that’s how I started making reels.
Q6) Did you hesitate before posting your first video on Instagram? What was going on in your mind at that time?
Kushagra: Oh absolutely, I remember when I when I posted my first video, I was anxious and nervous at the same time because I didn’t know what people were gonna say. So after I posted my 10th or 15th reel, that is when I started getting some confidence.
Q7) In your experience, what kind of content actually works well on Instagram?
Kushagra: In my experience, I feel anything that can make people laugh or give them some sort of value works very well on Instagram.
Q8) Before posting a video, what are some small but important things a creator should keep in mind?
Kushagra: This depends on the niche. For example, what I believe in is—am I happy making this reel? Do I think this could make someone laugh? That is what I believe in. For example, if someone is in, let’s say, finance or real estate, then they need to have their data right.
Q9) What’s one bad habit you have that you’re trying to work on?
Kushagra: Limiting my screen time 🤣
Q10) If someone wants to become a content creator today, what honest tips would you give them?
Kushagra: If someone wants to become a content creator today, I would suggest they not believe in instant gratification.
Q11) Has content creation ever made you feel low or mentally exhausted? How do you deal with those phases?
Kushagra: No, I don’t think content creation has ever made me feel low or mentally exhausted. I enjoy making reels. I enjoy shooting. I enjoy thinking of new ideas that could make people laugh.
Q12) What is your biggest realization so far?
Kushagra: My biggest realization so far is that you don’t know the impact your videos can have on someone. I believe—even if one person laughs by watching my video, that’s a great achievement for me. If I can pull someone up from depression and make them laugh, and help them enjoy life a little bit more, that is an achievement for me.
