People say “be present”, but then they also ask, “Where do you see yourself in five years?
And honestly, I never really have a clear answer to that.
Five years is a long journey. In that time, you go through many things, many changes, many unexpected turns. Apart from the simple thought that maybe I’ll have enough money to retire early. And by retirement, I don’t mean spending my days sleeping at home. I mean having the freedom of choice — the freedom to do anything without worrying about money.
Maybe helping someone, maybe teaching for free, maybe just living a little more peacefully and happily.
But the truth is, no one actually knows whether the vision they imagine for the future will truly make them happy when they reach there.
In offices, people ask this question mostly because they want to motivate you to work today. But motivation often feels like a fake fuel — no one really questions where it comes from or why it exists.
Life is unpredictable anyway.
So maybe the best thing is to live in the present, enjoy life with a little wisdom, do what you want without troubling others. Because it’s your life, and I’m just a spectator in it.
And please don’t start living your life based on this article either.
Just… live.
